What kind of materials are there and how are they made? What kinds of properties do materials have that make them useful? Let’s find out how we can think differently about our use of materials for our health and the health of our environment.
 
What’s it made of? The Materials big book examines a wide range of familiar materials; where they come from; how they are made and used. Suitable for children in the Early Years and Lower Primary, teachers can use this book to focus on a particular material for investigations or as an introduction to a broader examination of materials in the natural and built environment.
 
Children will be able to differentiate between an object and what it is made from, identify a range of common materials and develop a vocabulary to describe the characteristics of different materials.
